What's the best way to remove the adhesive gunk left over from a bumper sticker?

I recently removed some stickers from my car, both on the body of the car and on the rear window, and need some advice on what to use to remove the adhesive that was left over when I removed the stickers.What's the best way to remove the adhesive gunk left over from a bumper sticker?

WD-40 is the best thing that I know of. It makes short work out of anything sticky.
use a hair dryer to heat it up it will come right off
First of all DO NO USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER!!! This stuff is designed to strip paint as well as paint thinner. Gasoline, carb cleaner, and WD-40 will leave a residue on your paint and can ruin the finish. I have never tried peanut buter on adhesives but it works wonders for road tar and bugs. Goo Gone is great stuff and works for many other things as well, also I have never had a problem with it harming the paint. Some decal adhesives do not come off even with this stuff. Use a little Goo gone on a shop towel or old rag and rub it lightly. If the adhesive starts to smear it's working. Keep rubbing it until it is no longr attached then use a little more to clean up the residue. Make sure you wash your car with CAR soap immediately after so there is no cleaner left on the paint.
Peanut Butter or Vegetable oil work well if you want something fast and don't have time to go to the store. But if you have time to shop i recomment Goo gone. You can get it at the dollar store for $1 a bottle instead of $4 at a regular store.
Some stuff called ';Goof Off';. Just don't get it on paint for long. The wife swears by the stuff.

If that doesn't work, or the fumes are too much, try rubbing alcohol.
Try a product by the name of Goo Gone. You can buy it at Walmart, a $1 or .99 cents discount store, or local hardware store. I've used this product on a variety of substances with great results.
i just put rubbing alcohal on a paper towel and rub the stuff off.

Fingernail polish remover is what I used to good results.
Alcohol will work on some adhesives-if it's on the paint of the car I wouldn't try anything stronger. Lacquer thinner will work on the bumper (assuming it's chrome-plated steel and not plastic).I wouldn't try it on the windows though-not sure what that would do.Saw a suggestion for WD 40 , but that isn't kind to paint=it gets into it on the molecular level.
this may sound really weird but i am telling you this. Use peanut butter, really don't laugh, it works the oils from the peanut butter will lift it off. Just smaer the peanut butter on let sit for a few then wipe it off. Like I said Don't laugh, try it you will see it works.
