Can I paint over adhesive residue on a concrete porch?

I've used adhesive remover and got most of the residue off, but some patches remain, and I'm out of time and energy. Is it wise/safe to paint over the remaining residue; and will it last?

Any advice appreciated! Can I paint over adhesive residue on a concrete porch?
Talk to the paint store and ask their advice, 90% of successful painting is good prep work. (You may be able to sand or grind off the rest of the residue.)

Painting over the residue will mean the texture will telegraph through. In time, the paint will wear off the residue patches at a different rate than elsewhere on the porch. You will have to re-paint sooner and deal with residue that is older and harder, with paint gunk layered over it.
