I have a spot on my baby girl's Baby Einstein Activity Mat/Gym (the part she lays on) from a piece of masking tape that I removed (from a garage sale). How can I remove it without ruining the fabric? How can I remove an adhesive spot from masking tape from my baby's play mat?
Try Goo Gone, which is contains and smells like orange oil - is sold in Home Depot, Target, Walmart, etc. Do not spray directly on mat - spray onto a cloth and then rub on adhesive spot. Once the adhesive is removed, you need to thoroughly wash the spot with soap and water. Be careful using this on rubber, but should be ok on most synthetics.
F/Y/I, most adhesives are easily removed from any surface (except paper or cardboard) with some sort of oily substance, like peanut butter, olive oil or an oil-based cleaner like Goo Gone. Some people use lighter fluid or similar cleaner compounds, but I have always thought that a bad idea myself. How can I remove an adhesive spot from masking tape from my baby's play mat?

I use Goo Gone. It takes off all kinds of gummy/sticky things. It will be in your chemical cleaners section. I get mine at target.
Rubbing Eucalyptus Oil on the mark will remove the sticky residue. It works on all surfaces.

Its in the cleaning products isle at discount or grocery stores Amazing stuff, anything sticky it will remove without any harm to item.
May need to wash activity mat/gym when done if you don't like the smell(orange).
Not sure....have you tried a Magic Sponge? Not sure if that would work, but it might, and it doesn't use any chemicals, just water.
