How do I remove duct tape adhesive from a wooden chair?

The chair is Walnut with a thin varnish coating. The duct tape seems to have been there a long time. I have tried cleaners with no results.How do I remove duct tape adhesive from a wooden chair?

or finish would be peanut butter, the oils in it is a great remover of sticky stuff. it works great for gum in hair.

Goo Gone is probably your best bet. Especially when dealing with tape or other sticky products. It sould definitly get the job done.
good old eucalyptus oil,dab on cotton ball and rub till it's removed, it won't damage the vanish or the wood plus smells great.
Use a hair dryer to make the glue softer and slowly remove.

Let it soak into the glue and wipe off
Try some WD-40 spray %26amp; a rubber scraper or old credit card...
