If the factory stitching between a small section of the side and the top comes loose, leaving a hole, and there aren't any shoe repair shops in town anymore. Contact cement. Put the glue on both surfaces. Keep them apart until the glue dries. Now press the two pieces together. Make sure to line everything up before making contact. gorilla glue or epoxy glue is really durable.
