What would be the best adhesive to glue a sole back on an athletic shoe?

The last several pairs of athletic shoes I've purchased, the back sole separates from the shoe after wearing for a few weeks. I've tried rubber cement, fixture adhesive and silicone caulk. None of these work. Any suggestions? What would be the best adhesive to glue a sole back on an athletic shoe?
The best glue is something called ';Goop'; Make sure you clean the rubber parts with a solvent. An alcohol will work, but so will something stronger like acetone (don't use too much or your shoe will dissolve). Clamp the parts together for 24 hours - a regular clamp is best but a couple of boards wrapped together with rope will work too. What would be the best adhesive to glue a sole back on an athletic shoe?
I have seen a product called ';shoe glue'; or something very close to that. It is made specifically for rubber soled shoes. I have never used it myself, but a friend of mine swears by it. I have picked it up for him in Wisconsin at Farm N Fleet. He uses it on his work boots. It only lasts a few weeks and he re-glues and is good for a few more.
Gorilla glue, available walmart/hardware/home improvement stores.
