It's a GE. I have a glass top electric stove that is broke. I also have a replacement top, but the ceramic top is the wrong color. I want to cut out the good glass and need the adhesive for installation. What adhesive is used in mounting glass top electric stoves?
only a guess. I have not seen the manufacturing process, and the description is not 100% clear.
first, it's tempered glass. so, you won't be cutting the glass with a wheel.
Adhesive- at very least it is an ';SMP'; (silyl modified polymer). something like ISR 70-05 or ISR 70-08 (terms worth google-ing). it might be a silicone for better heat resistance, and it might be a 2 part ceramic for the best heat resistance. most of it depends on where you're bonding the parts back together. What adhesive is used in mounting glass top electric stoves?
You're not going to be able to replace the ';glass'; by itself. This is a special glass-ceramic, and it appears it can only be bonded at the factory.
Order yourself a new top in the right color

And sell your old top on e-bay if the place you bought it from won't take it back.
the units are sealed at the factory and can't be separated without breaking.
