How long until tile adhesive is ready to walk on?

I want to lay a new tile floor in the kitchen but, being the kitchen, I am in and out of there pretty frequently. I know to wait before grouting it, but how long do I have to wait before I can walk on it?How long until tile adhesive is ready to walk on?
YOU CANNOT walk on it in an hour or so . Even if your using a speed set. Normal for a speed set is 2/3 hrs. Not recommended if your the average DIY.. Most all glues ( and I hope your using a thin set) require a minimum of 24 hours under normal heat and humidity.. Now there are special circumstances but thats a good rule of thumb..

12 hours is no way near enough time to let thin set set and you don t have to use the more expensive white thin set, grey is fine in most cases since thin set must be 1/2 way down or more to get grout to properly bond..

Even to walk on it , even though it feels solid, you will break the bond between the thin set and the substrate your bonding to. ANY questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GLHow long until tile adhesive is ready to walk on?
Usually a product called ';Thin Set'; is used, but there are others. Basically all adhesives will be fine to walk on the next day. I wouldn't try tap dancing on it with steel toed boots though.

Get it all prepared and then after dinner one night lay the tile. I should be good to go by the next morning if you're careful on it.
First of all, don't walk on tile adhesive. LOL... OK, JK. You should not even think about walking on the tile for at least 12 hours. Its not moving the tiles around thats the problem, its breaking the bond between the tile/thinset/subfloor.

I like to use regular white thinset, get it in 50 pound bags at Home Depot. If your kitchen is an avergae size, two bags should be ok. I usually go through about 15-20 bags a week, but unless you want to open a flooring company, 2 bags should be ok. One bag covers about 75 sq feet. It comes in a white packaging with a green line on top and say ... what else, White Thinset on the bag:).

Besides, you have to pull the fridge and stove out anyway, so you have no reason to go in the kitchen until you return the appliances.

UPDATE: Dude, WTH are you giving me a thumbs down for?! Fine, go ahead walk on it in an hour, the hell do I care..
First do not use adhesive to lay floor tiles, it will not last long and tiles will crack in time. Use thinset mortar cement to install the floor tiles, then wait 12 hours before you can walk on it or grout it.
It depends on the adhesive or glue you use. Your answer will be on the container of glue. Just read the directions.
